New Jersey’s Unemployment Rate falls to 9% in January 2012

Unemployment in New Jersey Dropped to 9%!

According to the latest news, New Jersey has been growing jobs in the public sector job market. The NJ Unemployment Rate has fallen to 9% due to the added jobs in New Jersey. The last four out of five months saw a drop in the unemployment rate in NJ, yet there’s still TONS of people unemployed in New Jersey.

The public sector employment in New Jersey rose by 2,400 jobs in December 2011-January 2012, yet private sector jobs (company jobs) saw a drop of over 2000 jobs in New Jersey.

Since December 2010, over 40,000 private sector jobs have been created yet the public sector is down in jobs by over 2,500!

Now if this makes sense, there government jobs in NJ but not private jobs? Last I checked, according to all the NJ Job Listing websites I run, I’ve never seen any private sector jobs listed.

Keep in mind that there’s a ton of people unemployed in NJ, so the amount of jobs being created monthly isn’t sufficient enough to make a huge dent in the public sector of employment. Our job listing websites do feature many job openings in NJ for both part time and full time work, even some contract jobs.  I’d definitely recommend checking them out since you almost always, apply directly on the company’s website.

It’s much better than emailing some regular John Doe all your personal information and hoping that you hear back. (Highly don’t recommend sending anyone your personal info by email, especially on some free classified websites.)

Good luck and feel free to share your thoughts below with us!
